Our Story & Legacy

Safety Inspections was originally founded in 2002 by Tim Harris, who led the business successfully for over two decades. Tim began his career as an apprentice with British Rail before transitioning into the insurance industry, where he specialised in electrical, lift, crane, and LEV inspections. This deep, hands-on engineering experience shaped the foundational values of the company: technical rigour, honesty, and genuine care for both clients and staff.

Managing Director James Lapish worked under Tim’s mentorship for nearly a decade, eventually taking over operational management so Tim could enjoy his well-earned retirement. Tragically, following a brief battle with cancer, Tim passed away in 2022. To honour the lasting legacy, trust, and strong client relationships built over 20 years, Safety Inspections (UK-SE) Ltd was established. Built on the exact same ethics, morals, and dedication to excellence that Tim instilled, our team continues to uphold his vision today.
